1. Products & Materials
Q1: What types of wood do you use for your indoor furniture?
We use 100% solid, kiln-dried North American hardwoods. No veneers, no particle board, no MDF. Our standard wood species include:
-
Red Oak: Prominent, open grain; very durable; takes stains well.
-
Brown Maple: Smooth, consistent grain; lighter weight; excellent for painted or stained finishes.
-
Rustic Cherry: Rich, warm tones that darken beautifully with age; may contain small knots and mineral streaks.
-
Cherry: Premium, fine-grained; classic reddish-brown that deepens over time.
-
Hard Maple: Extremely hard and durable; very light color with subtle grain; ideal for heavy-use tables.
-
Quarter Sawn White Oak: Distinctive ray flake pattern; highly stable and water-resistant; premium choice.
-
Hickory: Bold grain with dramatic color variation (light to dark); extremely strong.
-
Walnut: Rich chocolate brown with elegant, straight grain; luxurious and sought-after.
We also offer Rough Sawn Wormy Maple, Rustic Walnut, and Reclaimed Barnwood for select collections. Free stain samples are available for any wood type.
Q2: What is the difference between “solid top” and “extension” tables?
-
Solid top table: The tabletop is a single, fixed size. It cannot expand. Ideal if you have a dedicated dining space and do not need extra seating.
-
Extension table: The table can expand by adding leaves (extensions). Leaves are typically 12 inches wide. You can order a table with 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or even up to 12 leaves, depending on the model. The table comes with wooden or geared equalizer slides to open smoothly.
Some of our extension tables offer self-storage – you can store the leaves underneath the table when not in use. Models like the Lexington Mini Double Pedestal, Parsons Leg Table, and Audrey Trestle offer this feature (must be specified at time of order).
Q3: Is your teak outdoor furniture genuine Grade-A teak?
Yes, absolutely. Our Goldenteak collection uses Grade A Tectona Grandis (plantation-grown teak) with heartwood only, no sapwood. This is the highest quality teak available, known for its high natural oil content, density, and resistance to rot, insects, and weather. It is the same wood used for luxury ship decks and marine applications. Our teak is sourced from certified sustainable plantations (SVLK and FSC certified). It arrives fine-sanded and buffed, with no stains or coatings, so it will naturally weather to a beautiful silvery gray or can be maintained with teak sealer.
Q4: Are your products made in the USA?
Our indoor Amish furniture is 100% made in the USA – handcrafted by Amish artisans in Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Our outdoor teak furniture is imported from certified sustainable plantations in Indonesia and other regions, but is designed and quality-inspected by us. We clearly label the origin on each product page.
Q5: Do your tables come assembled?
Large tables (dining tables, trestles, pedestals) ship partially assembled. Typically, the top comes separate from the base(s), and you may need to attach legs or pedestals. This is for safe shipping. Assembly is straightforward with included hardware and instructions. For an additional fee, we can arrange white-glove delivery (assembly in your home) – contact us for a quote.
Chairs and bar stools ship fully assembled or with minor assembly (e.g., attaching seat cushion). Teak folding chairs require unfolding only.
Q6: What is the weight of your tables?
Weights vary significantly by size, wood species, and construction. For example:
-
A 42″x72″ solid Cherry table with leg base may weigh 150–200 lbs.
-
A 48″x120″ double pedestal table can weigh over 300 lbs.
Each product page includes an approximate weight in the “Regular price” field (e.g., “11.95” is a placeholder; actual weight is not listed in the export but we provide it in product specs). If you need exact weight for shipping or floor load, please email us.
2. Customization & Design
Q7: Can I customize the size, wood, and stain of a table?
Yes, absolutely. That is the core of our business. Most Amish tables can be customized as follows:
-
Wood type: Choose from 8+ species (see Q1).
-
Stain/finish: Over 20 standard stains (e.g., Almond, Harvest, Shadow, Asbury, Medium Walnut, Michael’s Cherry, Carbon, etc.). You can also request custom color matching (additional fee).
-
Size: Widths from 36″ to 48″, lengths from 48″ to 120″ (or longer for some models).
-
Extension leaves: Solid top only, or up to 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 leaves (12″ each).
-
Edge profile: Mission (standard), waterfall, ogee, bevel, bullnose, etc.
-
Skirt height: Standard or modified (e.g., for armchair clearance).
-
Self-storage: Option to store leaves under the table (select models).
To start a custom order, simply navigate to the product page, select your options from the dropdown menus, and add to cart. If your desired combination is not listed, contact us for a manual quote.
Q8: How do I choose the right stain? Can I see samples first?
Yes, we offer free stain samples. You can order up to 5 small wood pieces (each about 3″x5″) finished with your chosen stains. This allows you to see the actual color and grain in your home’s lighting. There is no charge for the samples, but we may ask for a small shipping fee (refundable with a future order). Visit any product page and look for the “Free Stain Samples” link or contact us directly.
Q9: What table size do I need to seat 6, 8, 10, or 12 people?
General guidelines (assuming standard 18″-20″ wide chairs and 24″ spacing per person):
| Number of People | Recommended Table Length (rectangular) | Table Width |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 48″ – 60″ | 36″ – 42″ |
| 6 | 60″ – 72″ | 36″ – 42″ |
| 8 | 72″ – 96″ | 40″ – 48″ |
| 10 | 96″ – 108″ | 42″ – 48″ |
| 12 | 108″ – 120″ | 42″ – 48″ |
For round tables:
-
42″ round: seats 4
-
48″ round: seats 6
-
54″ round: seats 6-8
-
60″ round: seats 8
These are estimates. Armchairs require more width (typically 24″ per chair). Always measure your room and allow 36″-48″ clearance behind chairs for walking.
Q10: What is the standard table height? Can I get a counter or bar height?
Standard dining table height is 30 inches (floor to top). Counter height is 36 inches. Bar height is 42 inches. We offer select tables (like the Brogan Pub Table, Vinson Pub Table, and Fenway Pub Table) in counter or bar heights. If you need a non-standard height for a custom table, please contact us; additional fees may apply.
Q11: What are “equalizer slides” and “wooden slides”? Which is better?
Both are mechanisms that allow an extension table to open and close.
-
Wooden slides (non-geared): Traditional method using wooden rails. They are durable, quiet, and require no maintenance. Best for occasional use (a few times per year).
-
Geared equalizer slides: Metal mechanisms with gears that keep both sides of the table opening evenly. They are smoother and easier to operate, especially for tables with many leaves (4+). Recommended for frequent expansion.
Many of our tables use heavy-duty equalizer slides (e.g., Berkley, Alana, Lexington). For tables with 5+ leaves, we use wooden telescoping slides for extra strength. Both are high-quality.
Q12: What is “leaf self-storage”? Which tables have it?
Leaf self-storage means you can store the extension leaves under the tabletop when not in use. This saves closet space. The leaves slide into a storage box or rails underneath. It must be specified at the time of order because it affects the frame design.
Models that offer self-storage (on select sizes):
-
Lexington Mini Double Pedestal (stores up to 2 unskirted leaves)
-
Parsons Leg Extension Table (varies by size, see product table)
-
Audrey Trestle (varies)
-
Catalina Leg Table (varies)
-
Emma Trestle (2 leaves)
-
Greenwood Trestle (varies)
-
Houston Leg Table (2 leaves)
-
Olde Century Trestle (up to 4 leaves)
Not all sizes can self-store. Check the product description or ask us.
3. Ordering Process
Q13: How do I place an order?
You can order directly through our website https://nhncommerce.shop . Select the product, choose your customization options (wood, stain, size, etc.), add to cart, and checkout. We accept payment via Stripe (credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
If you need a complex custom order (e.g., non-standard size, mixed wood types, special finish), please email us at namhuyedx@gmail.com for a manual quote and invoice.
Q14: Do I need to create an account?
You can check out as a guest. However, creating an account allows you to track orders, save your address and payment methods (securely via Stripe), and view order history.
Q15: Can I order by phone?
Yes. Call us at +1626-999-2237 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM MT). We can take your order details and send you a secure payment link via Stripe. We do not take payment information over the phone for security reasons; you will pay through the link.
Q16: What is the lead time for custom Amish furniture?
Typically 8 to 12 weeks from order confirmation to shipment. This includes time for wood selection, cutting, joinery, finishing, and quality inspection. During peak seasons (late summer to early winter), lead times may extend to 14-16 weeks. We will provide an estimated ship date in your order confirmation email.
In-stock teak furniture ships within 2-5 business days.
Q17: Can I expedite my order?
For custom Amish furniture, expediting is generally not possible because each piece is made to order. However, we may have Quick Ship options for certain popular configurations (e.g., Brown Maple, Almond stain, standard sizes). Contact us to check availability.
For in-stock items, you can select expedited shipping (e.g., 2-day air) at checkout for an additional fee.
Q18: Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Once your order ships, we will email you a tracking number and carrier information (e.g., FedEx, UPS, or freight carrier). For custom orders, you will also receive a production update email when your table enters the finishing stage.
4. Payment & Security
Q19: What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB) as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay via Stripe. We do not accept PayPal, checks, money orders, or cryptocurrency for standard orders. For wholesale orders over $10,000, we may accept bank wire transfer – contact us.
Q20: Is it safe to use my credit card on your site?
Absolutely. Our payment gateway is Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified company (the highest security level in the industry). All card data is encrypted end-to-end and tokenized. We never store your full card number. Our entire website is secured with 256-bit SSL encryption (look for the padlock in your browser). We also use 3D Secure 2.0 for additional authentication when needed.
Q21: Do you charge sales tax?
We collect sales tax only for orders shipped to Wyoming (where we have a physical presence). For all other U.S. states, you are responsible for any use tax as required by law. International customers are responsible for import duties, VAT, and customs fees.
Q22: When will my card be charged?
-
In-stock teak items: Charged at checkout.
-
Custom Amish furniture: We place a temporary authorization hold at checkout, but the actual charge occurs within 24-48 hours after order confirmation. This secures your place in the production queue.
-
Backorders: Charged when the item ships, unless otherwise noted.
Q23: Can I get a refund if I cancel my custom order?
See our [Refund and Return Policy] for full details. In summary:
-
Cancel within 48 hours of order: Full refund.
-
Cancel after 48 hours but before production starts: Full refund minus 5% processing fee.
-
Cancel after production has started (wood cut): No refund (you will receive the completed item).
For non-custom items, cancellation before shipment is free within 24 hours; after 24 hours, a 10% fee may apply.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Q24: How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:
-
Weight and dimensions of the product(s).
-
Shipping destination (your ZIP code or country).
-
Shipping method (standard ground, expedited, freight, white-glove).
We offer free curbside delivery on most orders over a certain amount (varies by promotion). Otherwise, you will see a transparent shipping cost before payment.
For international orders, we provide a shipping quote after you enter your address. Duties and taxes are not included.
Q25: How long does shipping take?
-
In-stock teak furniture (USA): 2-7 business days via ground.
-
Custom Amish furniture (USA): 8-12 weeks lead time + 3-7 days shipping.
-
International: 2-4 weeks for in-stock, 12-16 weeks for custom (including production).
These are estimates. Severe weather, carrier delays, or customs holds may extend delivery.
Q26: Do you ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses?
We ship to PO boxes only for small items (e.g., stain samples, small accessories). For large furniture, we require a physical street address because carriers like FedEx Freight cannot deliver to PO boxes. We do ship to APO/FPO addresses via USPS for small items, but large furniture is not eligible. Contact us for alternatives.
Q27: What is curbside delivery?
Curbside delivery means the carrier will deliver the box(es) to the curb or driveway at the front of your home. They do not bring the items inside or unpack them. You are responsible for moving the boxes from the curb into your home. For large tables, we recommend having a helper and a hand truck.
We offer white-glove delivery (inside your home, unpacking, assembly, and debris removal) for an additional fee. Contact us for a quote.
Q28: What if my order arrives damaged?
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. If you see obvious damage to the packaging, note it on the delivery receipt and take photos. Then, contact us within 7 days at namhuyedx@gmail.com with your order number and photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you. See our [Refund and Return Policy] for full details.
Q29: Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most European Union countries. For other countries, please email us to confirm. International shipping costs are calculated at checkout (duties and taxes are not included and are your responsibility). Please note that returns from international locations are very expensive and are generally not accepted for change-of-mind. Damage claims are handled on a case-by-case basis with photo evidence.
6. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations
Q30: What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day satisfaction period from delivery. If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we pay return shipping and provide a full refund or replacement. If you simply change your mind on a non-custom, non-clearance item, you may return it at your own shipping cost, subject to a 15-25% restocking fee (depending on the item). Custom-made Amish furniture cannot be returned for change of mind. Please review our full [Refund and Return Policy].
Q31: How do I start a return?
Email us at namhuyedx@gmail.com with your order number and the reason for return. For damage claims, include photos. Do not ship anything back without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Unauthorized returns will be refused.
Q32: How long does it take to get a refund?
Once we approve your refund, we process it through Stripe. Credit card refunds typically appear on your statement within 2-5 business days. Debit cards may take 3-7 days. International refunds may take slightly longer. We will send you a confirmation email when the refund is issued.
Q33: Can I exchange an item for a different size or color?
We do not offer direct exchanges because most items are made to order. Instead, you would need to return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order. For custom orders, this is rarely practical. Please double-check your size and stain choices before ordering.
7. Assembly & Care
Q34: How do I assemble my table?
Each product includes a printed assembly manual. For most leg tables and pedestals, you will need to attach the top to the base using the provided bolts and hex key. For trestle tables, you may need to attach the trestle feet. Instructions are straightforward. If you lose the manual, contact us and we will email a PDF.
Q35: How do I care for my solid wood table?
-
Use coasters and placemats to avoid water rings and heat damage.
-
Clean with a damp (not wet) cloth and mild soap. Dry immediately.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia, or silicone-based polishes.
-
Re-apply wax or oil every 6-12 months depending on use. We recommend Osmo Polyx-Oil or a similar hardwax oil.
-
Protect from direct sunlight (causes fading) and extreme humidity changes (causes cracking).
For deep scratches, use a wood touch-up marker or contact a professional refinisher.
Q36: How do I care for my teak outdoor furniture?
Teak is extremely low maintenance. You have two options:
-
Natural weathering: Leave it outside. It will turn from golden brown to a silvery gray patina within 6-12 months. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect durability.
-
Preserve honey-brown color: Apply a teak sealer or UV-protectant oil every 3-6 months. Avoid cheap teak oils that can become sticky.
Clean with mild soap and water or a gentle pressure wash (under 1500 PSI). Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals. Stainless steel hardware may be cleaned with a stainless steel cleaner.
Q37: Can I leave my teak furniture outside in winter?
Yes. Teak is naturally rot-resistant and can withstand freezing temperatures, snow, and ice. However, to prolong its life, you may cover it or store it indoors if you live in an area with extreme freeze-thaw cycles. Our teak is Grade-A heartwood, so it will not crack or warp easily.
8. Warranty & Repairs
Q38: What warranties do you offer?
-
Amish solid wood furniture: 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects (e.g., joint separation, warping due to faulty drying, finish peeling). Does not cover normal wear, scratches, dents, or damage from misuse.
-
Goldenteak teak furniture: 5-year warranty on teak wood against structural failure (e.g., rotting, cracking that compromises function). 1-year warranty on brass hardware.
-
Cushions and fabrics: 1-year warranty against excessive fading or seam failure (normal fading is expected).
To make a warranty claim, contact us with photos and your order number. We will work with the manufacturer to provide replacement parts or a replacement item at our discretion.
Q39: What is not covered by warranty?
-
Damage caused by improper assembly, abuse, or accidents.
-
Normal wear and tear (e.g., minor scratches, dents, fading of stain).
-
Damage from exposure to extreme conditions beyond normal use (e.g., flooding, fire, intentional damage).
-
Natural wood characteristics (knots, grain variation, mineral streaks).
-
Commercial use (unless explicitly rated as commercial).
Q40: How do I get replacement parts (e.g., a missing bolt or a broken leg)?
Email us at namhuyedx@gmail.com with your order number and a description of the part needed. For small hardware (screws, bolts, caps), we will send them free of charge. For larger parts (legs, skirts, slides), we will assess whether it is a warranty issue or a paid replacement.
